attic insulation

I had one room in my house that would not get warm. My daughters room was always 10deg. colder. Jason came in and installed some radiant barrier around the skylights filled the gaps in the light fixtures and open spaces in the rock and filled in the insulation in the corners that the builders obviously missed. Simple solutions imediate results at minimal cost. Jason realy knows his business.

Radiant Heat Barrier

We had Jason install the heat barrier throughout the attic crawlspace. We have noticed that the upstairs has been cooler and have run the fans considerably less than before it was installed. Jason also told us about several things we could do to help with weatherizing the house. We appreciated his professionalism and highly recommend him.

Radiant barrier and solar attic fan

Jason installed a radiant barrier throughout my attic and a solar attic fan. Solar attic fans can be tricky business, if not installed correctly; they can actually cost you more money than before. You must have clear attic vents before putting a fan in to allow for proper air flow. Clogged vents means the fan will pull conditioned air out of your living space not only defeating the fans purpose, but making it worse. My experience with many installers is they are not aware of, or do not care about this important consideration. Jason was fully aware of this and asked me about it early on. He proved proper knowledge and followed up with great service. Jason and Key Energy Solutions are definitely recommended.

Reflective Radiant Barrier

Since we moved in six years ago I’ve been doing various things to reduce the rise in heat that our daughter’s room experiences during the summer. Prior to any modifications, the room could get 8 degrees warmer than the downstairs temperature. After multiple modifications, I only had marginal benefit. (tinted window, solar screen, extra insulation, etc.) Not expecting much, I had Key Energy install the Radiant Barrier on the part of the wall that shares the attic. (about 2/3 of 1 wall) Overall, I am amazed with this product. It performed better than I expected. The temperature in my daughter’s room only climbs gradually to about 2 degrees above the downstairs temperature. Solar Attic Fan

We have two older homes in the north end of Boise. After learning about the solar attic fans at the 2009 Green Expo, Jason installed them in our homes. Since the install our homes have been much more comfortable during the summer months, allowing us to eliminate air conditioning at night and greatly reducing the need during the day… and Jason is a gem to work with.
